Laundry Day Hack: The Speed Cycle as Your Secret Pre-Wash Weapon!
Quick Tip Tuesday: Laundry Made Easier

Let's face it, some laundry loads are just dirtier than others. Whether it's grubby cleaning rags, muddy play clothes, or the ever-present cloth diapers, tackling those truly soiled items can feel like a daunting task. But what if I told you there's a simple, effective way to get them cleaner without extra effort?
My secret weapon for seriously dirty laundry is using your washing machine's speed cycle as a pre-wash!
That's right, instead of just tossing everything in for one long wash, give those extra-grimy items a quick rinse first. This method works wonders because it loosens and flushes away the heaviest soils before your main wash cycle even begins.
Here's how to do it:
Load 'Em Up: Toss your dirtiest laundry – be it cleaning rags, cloth diapers, or anything else heavily soiled – into the washing machine.
Detergent (or Not): For things like cleaning rags, you often don't even need to add detergent for this pre-wash step. For items like cloth diapers, a small amount of detergent is a good idea to start breaking down odors and soil.
Reduce the Spin: Select your machine's speed cycle or a quick rinse cycle. Crucially, reduce the spin speed if your machine allows. A lower spin helps keep the majority of the grime in the water, which then drains away, instead of being re-spun into the fabrics.
Run with Confidence: Once that quick cycle is done, your laundry has gotten a fantastic pre-wash. Now you can run your normal, full wash cycle with confidence, knowing that the heavy lifting has already been done. Your clothes will come out cleaner, and your main wash will be more effective!
This simple trick makes a noticeable difference, especially for those challenging laundry loads. Give it a try next time you're facing a pile of really dirty items!
